Novo Brazil Brewing and Nova Kombucha are proud to be a part of the San Diego community. We have teamed up with your favorite San Diego sports teams to bring you a one-of-a-kind drinking experience with our partnership kombucha.
San Diego Padres
In March 2024, we teamed up with the San Diego Padres to introduce a City Connect-themed hard kombucha called Sunset Slam Mango Lime. You can find Sunset Slam on draft and in 16-ounce cans at various spots within Petco Park, with the cans sporting the Padres’ City Connect uniform colors. This refreshing kombucha has an 8% alcohol-by-volume, is gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
Tiago Carneiro, Novo Brazil Brewing’s president and founder, expressed our excitement: “There’s no more electrifying atmosphere in town than cheering on our hometown Padres at the ballpark. We’re proud to have such a significant presence at this community gathering point. As passionate supporters of San Diego sports, we’re looking forward to many memorable nights with the Padres and great kombucha.”
You’ll find Sunset Slam on tap in Gallagher Square and within the Craft Beers of San Diego area on the main concourse behind home plate. Plus, cans are available at Seaside Market on the first base side and in craft grab-and-go coolers throughout the ballpark.
If you’re near Nova’s Ocean Beach taproom or Novo Brazil’s sports pubs in Mission Valley, Otay Ranch, or Imperial Beach, you can also enjoy Sunset Slam. Keep an eye out for official viewing parties for Padres road games at Novo Brazil locations! You can also grab Sunset Slams’ single 16-ounce cans or six packs of 12-ounce cans at retail outlets across San Diego County.
San diego Wave
The Official Hard Kombucha of Wave FC – NOVA La Ola Dragon fruit – is our collaboration with the San Diego Wave FC women’s soccer team. With a unique and refreshing flavor and beautiful brand packaging with the team’s bright colors, La Ola is also the official hard kombucha of Snapdragon Stadium, where all Wave FC home games are played.
“This partnership connects two organizations that share a commitment to being innovative and investing in our community, and we’re excited to continue to grow together,” said San Diego Wave FC President Jill Ellis. Besides the La Ola collaboration, our NOVA taproom and Novo Brazil brewpubs serve as watch-party locations for Wave FC away matches.
Mesa Foundation
In January 2024, we launched Nova Azteks Raspberry Lemonade, a drink created in collaboration with San Diego State University men’s basketball players via MESA Foundation. Part of the sales of the Azteks kombucha are invested into the foundation to be redistributed amongst the athletes.
NOVA Azteks is available on draft and in four packs of 16-ounce cans at all of our locations: NOVA Ocean Beach, Novo Eastlake, Novo Otay Ranch, Novo Imperial Beach, and Novo Mission Valley. Four packs are available in retail outlets throughout San Diego County. NOVA Azteks has a 6% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), and it is gluten-free, vegan, and naturally fermented. It has delicious tasting notes of lemonade and raspberry.
Mesa’s founder and president Jeff Smith was looking to amplify SDSU’S NIL exposure, and our president, Tiago Carneiro, a devout San Diego sports fan, threw in his bid. “Tiago was one of the first business owners to step up. He gets it. The landscape of college sports is shifting,” Smith says. “You can no longer passively support your favorite college sports team and expect them to have continued success. It won’t happen. This is an ideal partnership because it allows the community to support the players.”
